wizzardmk 490 days ago | HI Sorry to bother you again but I finally got it to work with my computer. Haven’t tried it yet with my racing sim or flight sim. I have a 2 small questions I am hoping you can answer me. 1) How far does my hat with the reflector have to be from the cam in order to catch the light or signal? Because it seems that after 12 inches, I no longer see the white dot in freelook? 2) How do I set up my keys in my racing sim to work with freelook. Does this need to be done in freelook or the racing sim? Thanks for any help you can give me. Mike |
golfsierra2 483 days ago | Hi there, I just came along this page a few days ago and haven't worked with freelook yet, still waiting for a webcam (ordered). So you are working with a white reflector on a black cap ? The distance that the webcam still can pic up your reflector depends on - the brightness/contrast settings of your cam - the illumination of your cap by lamps pointed towards your face - the background of the room behind you (too bright ?) - the focus setting of your webcam I recommend that you try it with an LED (active light source) instead of an reflector. Unlike TrackIR, freelook is not an active systems, the cam istelf does not provide any help for picking up your reflector, it only catches it by the black/white contrast. If the cap is not illuminated enough or the background of your room is too bright, the cam will losse the signal very fast. About activating freelook with your simulation, you likely will have to activate it in your sim. In Lock-On, it's done by enabling the cockpit mouse, so instead of using the mouse for controlling the view, freelook takes over. Hope that might help you a bit. |
Brodha 416 days ago | Hi sirs, can you help me? I have web camera MSI with 1,3 megapixels resolution. Will this cam work with freelook? And second question: Is freelook compatibile with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002/2004? A have only FS (no IL2,...) and I want to use freelook with MSFS. Very very thank for your answers. Have a nice time, Pavel |
